Call for Submissions: The 2019 Summer Exhibition

The National Gallery invites artists to submit entries for the Juried Section of the 2019 Summer Exhibition. A selection committee comprised of two local judges and one international judge will be responsible for the selections. The decision of the judges is final. Entries are accepted in the following categories:

  • Painting
  • Drawing (including Pastel & Watercolours)
  • Original
  • Print Collage
  • Photography
  • Sculpture (including Assemblage)
  • Installation
  • Ceramic
  • Fibre Art
  • Audio Visual
  • Performance


The exhibition is open to all artists resident in Jamaica, Jamaican artists resident abroad and artists of direct Jamaican parentage living abroad. Artists submitting works from overseas should submit digital photographs of and proposals for the works they wish to enter. Final submissions should be appropriately framed or mounted.

Entries will be accepted only under the following conditions:

  1. Artists may submit up to two (2) works in total
  2. All works must have been completed within the past three (3) years
  3. Size restrictions for paintings and other two (2) dimensional works:

Maximum height: 90 inches
Maximum width: 120 inches

Works will be accepted Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning March 18, 2019
