Resignation of National Gallery of Jamaica’s Executive Director

The Board of Management of the National Gallery of Jamaica wishes to announce the resignation of its Executive Director, Dr Veerle Poupeye. Dr Poupeye has been the Executive Director since 2009.

The Board wishes to thank her for her services over these many years and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.

  1. WHAT A GREAT LOSS FOR THE NGJ. SO WONDERFUL TO SEE SOME OF THE WORK SHE HELPED TO SHOW THE WORLD DURING HER LEADERSHIP. PERHAPS A CATALOGUE IS IN ORDER FOR ALL THE WORKS AND ARTISTS INTRODUCED DURING HER TENURE.

  2. I, along with many others, will be sad to see Verle leave. She has given Jamaica some extraordinary exhibitions and brought a fresh energy to the face of Jamaican art. I wish her the very best in future endeavours , and hope that Jamaica does not lose such a profound intellect.
